Equations and models.
Once all variables have been defined
and assigned values and/or unit times, an equation is developed that
links all these variables in such a manner as to clearly provide the
end results sought by senior management.
The figure below depicts one such equation that describes the relationship
between workload and sustainable capacity in an effort to calculate
the optimum number of staff required in a given operations environment.
