Unique Delivery of Multi-Dimensional Data Cubes
Most Business Intelligence software companies form and manipulate data through multi-dimensional cubes. Some companies have a feature built-in where multi-dimensional cubes can be sent between users but all recipients of such cubes must have the actual BI platform installed. In our view, this is a major constraint for multi-dimensional data cubes to be used across departments and divisions, between parent and subsidiary companies, in addition to activities between partners and clients.
PROGNOZ has developed a technology to deliver multi-dimensional data cubes in a way that ANYONE, with or without the PROGNOZ platform and associated database connectivity, has the ability to view and manipulate our data cubes (including graphics and statistical functions), with the same level of functionality as a licensed PROGNOZ user.
PROGNOZ clients can email multi-dimensional data cubes to other departments and divisions within their organization, to clients, partners and vendors to be manipulated, analyzed and monitored without the need for proprietary software. This effectively eliminates the constraints resulting from typical BI solutions and creates a level of data accessibility currently not available.

Top-Down approach to BI Architecture
As a company, PROGNOZ utilizes a unique top-down approach when it comes to developing BI and BPM solutions. We think of it as looking at the big picture, in order to ain a greater understanding of the underlying detail.
A top-down or "big-picture" approach, in our definition, builds a solution based on the final set of functionalities that the system is designed for. At the moment, the traditional approach within the business intelligence software industry is the “bottom-up” approach, under which any system design is based on the structure of the existing database. The most critical problem with this approach is that the structure of the existing database may impose some limitations on the functionality of the final application. In the top-down approach, which we advocate, we design the systems’ functionalities and then force the database to accommodate the application.
In most cases, final users of any BI application have no idea and no interest in knowing how the initial dataset is structured. Final users do however, have a clear idea how they want to view the data, analyze it, report it, forecast it, send it, etc. Our top-down approach takes this view into account and accommodates our client’s expectations. This approach is much faster, more reliable, easier to manage, simpler (from the architecture standpoint) and more affordable than the traditional bottom-up approach.

Modeling and Forecasting
PROGNOZ offers modelling and forecasting capabilities the way it should be: in the form of identities and econometric functions. Most companies in the BI software market claim to offer modeling features, while in reality they do not provide fully integrated model building econometric capabilities.
The PROGNOZ platform equips our clients with the ability to build forecasting econometric models and run real time simulation/scenario analysis, by changing any of the input parameters and then monitoring any subsequent effects on the output. Model Builders allow our clients to run PROGNOZ Target Forecasts, whereby establishing the desired target and then providing a set of input solutions for getting to the pre-established target. It is also possible to run multi-variant forecast, where a user can combine scenario and target forecasting into an iterative forecasting cycle.
When it comes to modeling and simulation analysis, no company on the market matches the sophistication and applicability of PROGNOZ business intelligence platforms and built-in functionality. For big corporations a marginal increase in any of its business inputs may have large financial future implications. For government agencies it is also critical to analyze the potential impacts of different factors. Therefore, an ability to build its own forecasting econometric models, run multiple simulation exercises, in addition to visualize and analyze them in real time could be truly critical for strategic/planning decision-making. PROGNOZ, like no other, allows users perform just that in a unique and easy-to-understand modeling environment.
